Ryan Bishti is the Director of Cirq le Soir, a restaurant that opened at the end of last year. Cirq le Soir is located in the heart of Beirut’s downtown and offers global cuisine that includes Moroccan, French, and Lebanese dishes. The restaurant is owned by Mr. Bishti’s father, a native of Morocco who has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Mr. Bishti has been involved in the food business since he was 16 years old when he began working as a waiter at a small café in Lebanon. He worked as a chef for five years before graduating from business school with his MBA degree in 2012.
Ryan Bishti was born in Lebanon and has lived in the country since he was six months old. He attended a French school in Lebanon before moving to Switzerland when he was 16. Mr. Bishti then attended business school at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland before returning to Lebanon to complete his MBA degree at Saint Joseph University. After finishing school, Mr. Bishti worked for five years as an executive chef at a restaurant in Beirut, Lebanon, before opening Cirq le Soir last year with his father.
Mr. Bishti is an active member of the Lebanese business community and is also involved with several organizations, including the American Club of Beirut; The Lebanese Chamber of Commerce; Beirut Chamber of Commerce and Industry; The Council for Development and Reconstruction; Middle East Economic Association (MEED); Lebanese American Chamber of Commerce (LACC); Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) among others.
Ryan Bishti has received several awards for his achievements and contributions to the Lebanese community. He was named a Young Arab of the Year in 2009 by the Arab League. Mr. Bishti was also named a Young Global Leader in 2013 by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and appeared on Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2016.
